Weight Loss And Depression Are Inter Connected

According to a latest research, it has been found that obese people who carry out exercises and different physical activities of life in their weight loss program are less likely to get depressed. An expert said that it does not matter how much calories they lose or what is the rate of their weight loss program but the thing matters is that they are trying to lose weight and just because of that they seem to get less depressed than other people.

According to previous research, it was said that obesity has many risks to life including depression and by only losing very less amount of calories fat people get relaxed and feel improved physical and mental health. But some of the weight loss medications were proved to be dangerous as they had side – effects like depression, anxiety etc. And certain anti-depressants were announced to have side effects like people using them often put on weight.

In international Journal of Obesity, Dr Anthony Fabricatore mentioned that in the new report authors don’t seem to imply that weight loss is a substitute for treatment of depression. But this is true that people who are obese and are also patients of depression may find some relief by weight loss. Dr. Fabrcatore is currently working at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for Nutrisystem – a diet and weight loss company.

A group of 31 researches have proved through their studies that weight loss and depression are inter –  connected in some way and if a person loses weight he can feel relaxed and get out of the problem of depression. In their researches, the patients of obesity were placed into different weight loss programs and they noticed that by including diet and physical exercise the patient not only loses weight but also helps them to get relaxed.
